JML Engineering

JML Engineering is a full service structural engineering firm whose business philosophy is to provide a high quality product that is economical to construct.  This is achieved by producing high quality contract documents which clearly indicate the most appropriate structure for the clients proposed use.  Many of our clients are contractors and material suppliers who use us to optimize their structure.

We have worked on many large and small projects, both for the public and private sector.  Ninety five percent of our projects are with repeat clients or by recommendations from our clients.  Most of our projects have very limited budgets and we have optimized the structures to accommodate the limited budget.  On many projects we have redesigned the structures of other structural engineers in order to reduce the construction costs.

We are registered structural engineers in twenty two states.

The Firm offers a broad range of integrated services to its Clients. JML Engineering provides complete Structural Design, Working Drawings, Specifications and Field Support for all sizes and types of projects from Preliminary Studies through the Construction phase. Related services include Structural Investigations and Remedial Design and Construction Consulting, with a special emphasis in Rehabilitation, Restoration and Recycling of existing buildings.

The firm’s owner and principal, John M. Looney, P.E., has over 45 years of experience with national and international projects. Prior to establishing the JML Engineering, Mr. Looney was a principal at Aberjona Engineering, Inc. of Winchester, Massachusetts for 32 years. His past and current experience extends through a variety of projects, including low and high rise Residential Buildings, Commercial and Industrial Complexes and Institutional and Educational Buildings constructed of Light Wood and Heavy Timber Framing, Reinforced Masonry and Concrete, Structural Steel and Precast Concrete. JML Engineering also provides independent structural reviews (peer review) of various projects.
